Latasha N. Nevada Diggs, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Visual Arts Facility: Performance Space
ldiggs Writer, vocalist, and sound artist, Latasha N. Nevada Diggs is the author of three chapbooks, Ichi-Ban and Ni-Ban (MOH Press), Manuel is destroying my bathroom (Belladonna Press), and the album, Televisíon. Her work has been published in Rattapallax, Black Renaissance Noir, Nocturnes, Spoken Word Revolution Redux, The Black Scholar, P.M.S, Jubilat, Everything But the Burden, and Muck Works, to name a few. As a vocalist, she has worked with an impressive and diverse list of artists, including Vernon Reid, Akilah Oliver, Mike Ladd, Butch Morris, Gabri Christa, Shelley Hirsch, Burnt Sugar, Edwin Torres, Elliot Sharp, Mendi + Keith Obadike, Bernard Lang, Vijay Iyer, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Towa Tei, and Guillermo E. Brown. She has received scholarships, residencies, and fellowships from arts organizations including Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center, Naropa Institute, New York Foundation for the Arts, the Eben Demarest Trust, and the Harlem Community Arts Fund. As an independent curator and director, LaTasha has co-presented and directed two events with The Black Rock Coalition Orchestra. LaTasha is a 2009-10 LMCC Artist in Residence. She is a Harlem Elohi Native.
Davis Schneiderman, Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Visual Arts Facility: Performance Space
dschneiderman Davis Schneiderman is a multimedia artist and writer whose works include the forthcoming novel Drain (Northwestern University Press 2010), the novels Multifesto: A Henri d’Mescan Reader (Spuyten Duyvil), DIS (BlazeVox) and Abecedarium (Chiasmus, w/Carlos Hernandez); the co-edited collections Retaking the Universe: Williams S. Burroughs in the Age of Globalization (Pluto) and The Exquisite Corpse: Chance and Collaboration in Surrealism’s Parlor Game (Nebraska, 2009); and the audiocollage Memorials to Future Catastrophes (Jaded Ibis). His creative work has been accepted by numerous publications including Fiction International, The Chicago Tribune, The Iowa Review, and Exquisite Corpse. He is Director of Lake Forest College Press/&NOW Books, and he directs the NEH-funded Virtual Burnham Initiative. He can be found, virtually, at davisschneiderman.com.
Mark Danielewski, Thursday, June 3, 2010, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Visual Arts Facility: Performance Space
mdanielewski Mark Z. Danielewski is a critically acclaimed American author. He is the author of House of Leaves, The Whalestoe Letters, The Fifty Year Sword and Only Revolutions. His debut novel, House of Leaves, has been translated into a number of languages, and has also gained a considerable cult following, due to Danielewski's experimental choices in form. His most recent novel, Only Revolutions, was nominated for the National Book Award for Fiction.
