Languages
Welcome to the language programs in the Department of Literature. We offer an array of language courses all of which focus on bridging language and culture for a dynamic learning experience. We offer the following languages, at varying class levels:
Beginning: Greek, Korean, Latin, Russian, Spanish
Intermediate: French, German, Greek, Italian, Korean, Latin, Russian, Spanish
Advanced: French, Greek, Italian, Korean, Latin, Russian, Spanish
Heritage: Spanish

For students who complete through the intermediate and/or advanced level of a given language and continue on to study literature in that language, we also offer minors in French Literature, German Literature, Greek Literature, Latin Literature, Russian Literature and Spanish Literature. Additionally, we offer a Spanish Literature major and a World Literature & Culture major (where students may choose to concentrate on literatures of a particular language or region). Undergrad Advising
Current students must use the VAC (valid student PID required) or Zoom appointments for advising. We cannot advise students via email or over the phone (to preserve student privacy standards). If you have academic-related forms or paperwork that require our review and signature, please email them to litug@ucsd.edu.
Virtual Advising Center
