MFA Program Handbook

The Department of Literature  MFA Program in Writing is a 2-3 year residency program that offers interdisciplinary approaches to verbal art. Our cross-genre curriculum allows students to explore poetry and prose and encourages the exploration of writing that falls between or beyond genre categories. The MFA Program Handbook contains detailed information about program requirements, timelines, and academic policies.

The year-by-year plan outlined in this handbook is based on a three-year timeline.  Students who wish to accelerate their timeline should contact the advising staff to customize a plan.
