Willkommen – Welcome to Intermediate German!
The German 2-series offers students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the German language. The classes build on foundational skills and place a strong emphasis on the four core areas: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Alongside language development, students will enhance their cultural awareness, review grammar, and grow their literacy skills at a more advanced level.
Course activities include readings on historical and as well as contemporary topics, discussions of films, and classroom practice. All instruction is conducted entirely in German to provide a fully immersive experience.
German is a global language with a rich cultural legacy. It is the native language of approximately 100 million people and the most widely spoken language in the European Union. German holds official status in Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein, and is also one of the official languages of Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Being fluent in German is convenient in other areas such as business, literature, philosophy, film, music, and STEM.
