Bogdan Suceavă (born in Romania, in 1969) studied at University of Bucharest and Michigan State University. Since 2002, he teaches mathematics at California State University, Fullerton. He is the author of several novels: "Coming from an Off Key Time" (published in English by Northwestern University Press, 2011), "Miruna, A Tale" (Fiction Award of the Association of Bucharest Writers, 2007; in preparation with Twisted Spoon Press), "Vincent the Immortal," and "The Night Someone Died for You," all of them written originally in Romanian.

 Clayton Eshleman will read from his newly published translation of Aimé Césaire's Solar Throat Slashed (Wesleyan University Press). Eschleman has published over fifty books of poems, criticism, and translation.  His most recent books include: Juniper Fuse: Upper Paleolithic Imagination & the Construction of the Underworld (Wesleyan University Press), Grindstone of Rapport: A Clayton Eshleman Reader, and An Alchemist with One Eye on the Fire (both from Black Widow Press). He has contributed to over 400 magazines, and has been a literary editor for over forty years, having founded and edited the seminal literary magazines Caterpillar and Sulfur. He is the main American translator of César Vallejo (with José Rubia Barcia) and of Aimé Césaire (with Annette Smith). His translation of Césaire’s Solar Throat Slashed was released in 2011 by Wesleyan. He is the recipient of The National Book Award in 1979 for his cotranslation of César Vallejo's Complete Posthumous Poetry. He has also received a Guggenheim Fellowship in Poetry, two Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, two Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is currently Professor Emeritus in the English department at Eastern Michigan University.
