Toni Lampell

Toni Lampell is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico with more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish in the different countries she has lived in, including Bangladesh and El Salvador. She has a graduate degree in Education from SUNY Buffalo and another in Hispanic Studies from Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala. She has moderated literary workshops in El Salvador and Guatemala, and has coordinated Spanish literary clubs in Uruguay, Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and San Diego.

Toni is a passionate advocate of Latin American culture and literature. In her courses, she focuses on teaching students how to appreciate, understand, and relate to the diversity and richness of the Spanish language. She is a firm believer that learning a new language gives us the tools to get to know another culture and better understand the world we live in. Toni has done research into migration, identity, and literature in Hispanic countries, particularly in Central America.
