Classics
Classics comprises the study of the ancient Greek and Roman world through a multi-disciplinary approach including history, philosophy, art history, archaeology, linguistics, and literature among others. UCSD’s Department of Literature is the home to the study of the Greek and Latin languages on the UCSD campus. These languages, as the most complete repositories of the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome, offer the main gateway to the study of these lively and fascinating civilizations.
Visit the website of the Program in Clasical Studies for information about majors in Classics, Greek, and Latin and the minor in Classical Studies. Minors in Greek and in Latin are offered through the Department of Literature.
