MFA Travel Funds Application
Please refer to the MFA Handbook (https://literature.ucsd.edu/grad-mfa/handbook/financial-support.html#Research-&-Travel-Grants) for full details and policies regarding travel funds. Refer to the deadlines outlines below and plan your requests accordingly.
Stipend distribution schedule for travel funds
You can view the campus schedule for when a specific month's stipend entries will be paid out to students here: Receiving Your Stipend. For the remainder of the current fiscal year (through June 30th), if you want your stipend to be processed for a specific month's payout date, your complete and valid form must be submitted by the dates listed below. All 2025-2026 travel fund requests (for travel occurring 7/1/2025 - 6/30/2026) must be received by 6/10/2026 at the very latest. No requests received after 6/10/2026 will be approved. All travel occurring 7/1/2026 - 6/30/2027 will be a 2026-2027 travel fund request and will be processed no earlier than July.
Form submission deadlines for each month:
- December stipends (to pay out on 12/12/2026): 11/19/2025
- January stipends (to pay out on 1/28/2026): 1/7/2026
- February stipends (to pay out on 2/25/2026): 2/4/2026
- March stipends (to pay out on 3/31/2026): 3/11/2026
- April stipends (to pay out on 4/29/2026): 4/8/2026
- May stipends (to pay out on 5/29/2026): 5/6/2026
- June stipends (to pay out on 6/30/2026): 6/10/2026
