Summer 2026 Course Descriptions

Reminder - the courses and topics for Summer 2026 have already been reviewed and approved by the Summer Curriculum Committee. Please review the current listing of the Summer 2026 course descriptions linked below. When submitting this form, you may leave the subtitle, course description and/or major requirements fields blank, if no expansion on the current listing is needed.

TIP: Anything that can be added to the description to make it more enticing to a wide variety of students will be helpful. Will there be flexibility in final paper topics and/or readings? Will some of the readings be from current, popular literature? Be sure to list titles.

No changes to topics may occur without the pre-approval of all three Summer Curriculum Committee members:

  1. Director of Undergrad Studies - Ameeth Vijay
  2. Director of Doctoral Studies - Géraldine Fiss
  3. Director of the MFA Program - Anna Joy Springer

If you want to request a change in topic, please send a single email to all three faculty above with the proposed new subtitle and description. If/when you receive express approval from all three, forward those approvals to asimons@ucsd.edu. Then, fill out the form below. Deadline to submit all approvals and the form will be noon on Wednesday, April 8th. No changes may be made after this date.
