Dr. Noelia Domínguez is a Lecturer in the Department of Literature at the University of California, San Diego, where she has taught since 2021, with a focus on Spanish language and literatures, including courses for heritage Spanish speakers. She holds a B.A. in Humanities from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, an M.A. in Spanish from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Languages from The Graduate Center, CUNY.

Her teaching and scholarship center on Spanish literature, film, gender, sexuality, cultural representation, and contemporary Spain. Her peer-reviewed research has appeared in journals including Cincinnati Romance Review, Cine y… Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies on Film in Spanish, Ámbitos Feministas, Alba de América, and Letras Hispanas. Her work has examined lesbian cinema in Spain, gender and representation, women’s roles in post-Franco Spain, and cultural memory.

In addition to her academic publications, Dr. Domínguez is a creative writer whose short stories and poetry have appeared in literary anthologies and publications in the United States, Mexico and Spain. She has also presented her research at regional and national conferences and contributed to academic reviewing and editorial activities. Her teaching and service reflect a commitment to inclusive education, cross-cultural engagement, and the representation of underrepresented voices in literature and film.
