Fragmented Narratives
Instructor: Jac Jemc

"Fragments are the only forms I trust." - Donald Barthelme. The novel written on index cards. The memoir told in gasps. The story formed of snapshots. The essay made of scraps. In this course we'll read narrative work that demands agency from the reader to reach its final form, and then put these devices to use in our own creative work. The course will function as a hybrid: literature seminar/craft class/generative space.
