Thalia Field is the author of three books from New Directions: Birdlovers, Backyard (2010), Incarnate: Story Material (2007), and Point and Line (2000). She has also published A Prank of Georges (Essay Press, 2010) and a performance-novel, Ululu (Clown Shrapnel) with Coffee House. Working at the intersection of poetry, theater, and essay, Field interrogates the messy entanglements of storytelling. Her work often uses history and historical characters to foreground the narrative basis of facticity, fantasy, and fallibility. Field is a member of the Literary Arts faculty at Brown University.
