Registration

Graduate students receive a Personal Access Code (PAC) when they first attend UCSD. To register, follow this procedure:

  • Meet with your faculty graduate advisor to discuss your program for the upcoming quarter. If you have formed a committee, your primary adviser is your committee chair. If you have not formed a committee, you should consult the head or graduate adviser of your section or the Director of Graduate Studies.
  • Obtain the signature of the appropriate adviser on your registration form.
  • Return the form to the Graduate Information Office,  LIT 139.
  • Register on line.
  • Verify your enrollment to avoid retroactive adds/drops at the end of the quarter.

Please complete your registration by the deadlines announced. It is important that you register accurately so that faculty who are teaching courses can have a firm idea of who is registered for their seminars and what their obligations will be to independent study students. Timely registration also ensures that the Department receives full funding for its registered students. Most important, it respects staff work load and ensures that staff are not overburdened with late add and drop forms.
