Writing does not occur in isolation. Linked to a plurality of communities and a range literary traditions from the start, writing connects, subverts, transforms, ultimately producing the field in which questions about justice, critical thinking and critical practice are not only possible but also urgent .Taking advantage of our location right on one of the most dynamic borders of the contemporary world, we will work closely with your own production in close connection with the books/films/cultural artifacts generated by Latin American and Mexican-American writers/artists in the United States. Required readings are all in translation, and they encompass both fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
