Just South of Robinson Auditorium

Guest Speaker, Mike Davis "Why UCSD Loves Big Brother"

Once upon a time UC Berkeley fell in love with the hydrogen bomb (or rather the research dollars it generated) and became a partner in destruction with the Atomic Energy Commission.  Now UC San Diego has become a hub of the public-private partnerships that invent the future robotized warfare and universal state surveillance.  And without a peep of protest - Why?

Mike Davis os the acclaimed author of City of Quartz, Prisoners of the American Dream, Planet of Slums, and numerous other books.  He is currently Professor of Creative Writing at UC Riverside.
